Glide. When the squirrel flies, it cannot ascend, and descends 1 foot for every 5 feet it travels (5 feet for every 25 feet). If it doesn't land before it ends it's turn, it falls. If it's falling at the start of its turn, it can stop falling by flying until it lands or ends its turn again, falling once more.

Fear Fighter. The squirrel never fights to kill, only escape. All damage it does is nonlethal unless if it thinks it can't escape (I.E., against a creature larger or faster than it, typically not the tiny humanoids of a normal party). The squirrel has disadvantage on saving throws against spells and effects that cause it to become Frightened. If Frightened, its damage will become lethal until it isn't Frightened anymore.

Multiattack. The squirrel uses it Nibble and Swipe attack at the same time, to the same target. It only does this if it doesn't think it can escape.

ACTIONS

Nibble. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (1d12 + 2) piercing damage. Squirrels are not carnivores, and they won't do this unless they are attacking. A creature hit by this attack is grappled (Escape DC 14).

Swipe. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 4 slashing damage. The squirrel slashes at you with its claws.

REACTIONS

Flighty
The squirrel moves up to its movement speed (or flying speed if high enough up that it can use it). It can do this in response to being attacked, but occurs after damage and doesn't provoke opportunity attacks.
Expert Fall
The squirrel reduces fall damage it takes to 0.
The most terrifying thing in existence...
—A traumatized drunk in The City of Doors.

A Greater Flying Squirrel might seem a bit on the nose, but think about it. Squirrels are vicious when cornered, but besides a nasty cut or bite, it's fairly unlikely that one could kill a man. Until you consider the idea of a squirrel larger than a horse.

Variants

Removing the flying speed (And Glide feature) of this stat block can easily allow it to be used for normal Greater Squirrels as well. But why would you, am I right?

gollark: Just don't use the "scan QR code" thing, since I don't think Discord uses it for anything but logins.
gollark: I am not aware of them unconditionally doing it somehow.
gollark: It does *ask* you if you want to log in.
gollark: Don't those cost capital to operate in a lot of places?
