Amorphous. The oozeling can move through a space as narrow as 1 inch wide without squeezing.

Corrode Metal. Any nonmagical weapon made of metal that hits the oozeling corrodes. After dealing damage, the weapon takes a permanent and cumulative -1 penalty to damage rolls. If its penalty drops to -5, the weapon is destroyed. Nonmagical ammunition made of metal that hits the ooze is destroyed after dealing damage.
The oozeling can eat through 1-inch-thick, nonmagical metal in 1 round.

Spider Climb. The oozeling can climb difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings, without needing to make an ability check.

False Appearance. While the oozeling remains motionless, it is indistinguishable from an oily pool or wet rock.

ACTIONS

Pseudopod. Melee Weapon Attack: +3 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 2 (1d4) bludgeoning damage plus 2 (1d4) acid damage and if the target is wearing nonmagical metal armor, its armor is partly corroded and takes a permanent and cumulative -1 penalty to the AC it offers. The armor is destroyed if the penalty reduces its AC to 10.

These small gray oozes aren't as dangerous as regular ones, but tend to be found in large numbers. Although they are still unsophisticated in their hunting tactics, they are slightly more intelligent than most oozes and have a more curious nature. Some have even been known to be befriended and kept as pets or companions, particularly by ooze-kin.

Variant: Psychic / Familiar

Like a gray ooze, a gray oozeing that lives a long time can evolve to become more intelligent and develop limited psionic ability. Such occurrences are more common in oozelings that live near psionic creatures such as mind flayers, suggesting that the oozeling can sense and mimic psionic ability. Some of these psionic gray oozelings are willing to serve spellcasters as familiars.
A psionic gray oozeling has an Intelligence score of 8 (-1), as well as the following traits:
Familiar. Psychic gray oozelings can serve another creature as a familiar, forming a telepathic bond with its willing master. While the two are bonded, the master can sense what the oozeling senses as long as they are within 1 mile of each other. While the oozeling is within 10 feet of its master, the master shares the oozeling's Magic Resistance trait. At any time and for any reason, the oozeling can end its service as a familiar, ending the telepathic bond.
Magic Resistance. The oozeling has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.
