Innate Spellcasting. The gobbol's innate spellcasting ability is Charisma (spell save DC 12). It can cast the following spells, requiring no material components:

At will: mage hand, vicious mockery
3/day each: charm person, knock
1/day each: fly, suggestion

Nimble Escape. The gobbol can take the Disengage or Hide action as a bonus action on each of its turns.

ACTIONS

Claws. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (1d4 + 3) slashing damage.

Possession (Recharge 6). One humanoid that the gobbol can see within 5 feet of it must succeed on a DC 12 Charisma saving throw or be possessed by the gobbol; the gobbol then disappears, and the target is incapacitated and loses control of its body. The gobbol now controls the body but doesn't deprive the target of awareness. The gobbol can't be targeted by any attack, spell, or other effect, and it retains its alignment, Intelligence, Wisdom, Charisma scores, and its proficiencies. It otherwise uses the possessed target's statistics, but doesn't gain access to the target's knowledge, class features, or proficiencies.
The possession lasts until the body drops to 0 hit points, the gobbol ends it as a bonus action, or the gobbol is forced out by an effect like the dispel evil and good spell. When the possession ends, the gobbol reappears in an unoccupied space within 5 feet of the body and is stunned until the end of its next turn. The target is immune to this gobbol's Possession for 24 hours after succeeding on the saving throw or after the possession ends.

Gobbols are rare goblinoids that avoid almost all others of their kind. Some say that the first gobbols were goblins that were affected by some weird magic.
Gobbols are deceptive and have the ability to possess humanoids. They often take over the bodies of humans to spread lies and to obtain the one thing they love most: gold. Gobbols also love possessing people and committing crimes or social gaffes in their bodies, then leaving and watching the chaos they wreak on the lives of their victims, finding almost nothing funnier.
