Giant Golem (5e Template)

Giant Golem

Sometimes, golems are made larger than usual. These golems are stronger and hardier than lesser specimens, but also more expensive to produce. It takes double the time and gp to create a giant golem.

Prerequisite

Any golem.

Statistics

Hit Dice. Increase the giant golem's hit dice by 4 of its new type.

Abilities. The giant golem's Strength and Constitution scores each increase by 4.

AC. Increase the giant golem's AC by 1 (natural armour).

Size. The giant golem's size increases by one stage (Tiny to Small, Small to Medium and so on).

Traits

Brute. A melee weapon deals one extra die of its damage when the giant golem hits with it.

Grappler. The giant golem has advantage on attack rolls against any creature grappled by it.

Multiattack. The giant golem makes an additional melee weapon attack.

Siege Monster. The giant golem deals double damage to objects and structures.

CR Calculation

Recalculate the creature's CR with the following considerations:

  • Increased hit points (from improved hit dice and increased size).
  • Increase AC by 1 (from AC increase).
  • Increase effective damage per-round damage by the amount listed in the trait (from Brute and Multiattack).

gollark: So you'll just make houses more expensive even for people who don't care much, and/or increase everyone's tax burden.
gollark: Well, ultimately, someone has to pay for them?
gollark: i.e. it does not "only affect you", like smile dog said.
gollark: That affects other people, so I think most libertarians would say something should be done about that.
gollark: I mean, there was this person who said that "any technology which takes away jobs from humans should be banned", and I don't see how you would reasonably end up thinking that.
