Shapechanger. As an action, the stalker can change form into a Small or Medium humanoid. The stalker still retains its disturbing facial features, but if a hood hides its face, can pass as a human. The stalker can resume its true form as an action.

Unnatural Horror. Though its spindly 'legs' may give it a frail appearance, a Fingertip Stalker is hard to kill. As well as resistance to all weapon damage, the Fingertip Stalker regenerate 5 (1d4 + 3) hit points at the start of every round, as the flesh simply knits back together.

Wood is the bane of the stalker in particular the wood of the rowan tree. If the stalker takes damage from wooden weapons or radiant damage, this trait doesn't function at the start of the Fingertip Stalker's next turn. The stalker's body is destroyed only if it starts its turn with 0 hit points and doesn't regenerate.

Suffocating Gaze. The stalkers eyes are black pinpricks otherworldly portals to the beyond. If a creature within 30 feet can see the stalker, the stalker can force it to make a DC 12 Charisma saving throw, unless it averts its eyes (in which case it cannot see the stalker, and so has disadvantage on attacks against it, and the stalker has advantage on its attacks.) On a failed save, the target cannot break eye contact with the stalker, and cannot breathe as long as it maintains eye contact. On each of its turns it may use its action to try and wrest its gaze away, with the same DC 12 Charisma save to do so.

Magic Resistance. The Fingertip Stalker has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.

ACTIONS

Multiattack. The Fingertip Stalker makes two attacks with its fists.

Fist. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 10 (2d6 + 3) bludgeoning damage. If the target is a Medium or smaller creature, it is grappled (escape DC 14), Until this grapple ends, the target is restrained, and the Fingertip Stalker can't grapple another target..

The figure beckoned, and the farmer followed, curious. He couldn't see the persons face, but they seemed to be agitated - clearly something was wrong. After a few minutes trek through the woods, they came to a cave mouth. The figure beckoned once again, then stepped inside. The farmer frowned. It was odd the hooded figure hadn't once spoken - but then, it wasn't unknown for someone to have a tongue cut out - and that didn't mean that a man shouldn't still be entitled to aid when in need. He followed, into the cave. "Look, what's the problem?" he asked "Is there someone in here who needs help - injured, like?" The figure didn't answer. The farmer felt a twinge of unease. Suddenly the hooded stranger began to shake. The farmer looked on in horror as what was now clearly not a human twisted and thrashed, its fingers lengthening down to the ground, and then further. It's skin was alabaster white, and as its robe fell away and it turned, he gasped as he saw its face - or tried to. The breath stuck in his throat as he gazed into that face, the inky dots that served as eyes somehow trapping his eyes. He couldn't look away. The creature pressed its gangly fingertips to the floor, and still they grew, until the creatures bulk was lifted bodily from the floor, like some huge while spider.'
