Pact Magic. The ettin is a 5th-level spellcaster. Its spellcasting ability is Charisma (spell save DC 12, +4 to hit with spell attacks). The ettin knows the following warlock spells:

Cantrips (at will): eldritch blast, minor illusion, true strike
1st-3rd level (2 3rd-level slots): enthrall, fear, hellish rebuke, hold person, shatter, vampiric touch

Eldritch Invocations. The ettin knows three invocations from the warlock class. An average ettin wiccan knows, but limited to: Fiendish Vigor, Mire the Mind, Sign of Ill Omen.

Pact of the Blade. The ettin wields a pact weapon, which is either its battleaxe or morningstar. The pact weapon counts as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks and damage.

Two Heads. The ettin has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks and on saving throws against being blinded, charmed, deafened, frightened, stunned, and knocked unconscious.

Wakeful. When one of the ettin's heads is asleep, its other head is awake.

ACTIONS

Multiattack. The ettin makes two attacks: one with its battleaxe and one with its morningstar. Alternately, the ettin casts a spell, then makes a weapon attack.

Battleaxe. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 14 (2d8 + 5) slashing damage.

Morningstar. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 14 (2d8 + 5) bludegoning damage.

On a very, very rare occasion do both heads of an ettin would agree with each other, but an otherworldly, supernatural entity in front of the giant would make it happen anytime. If the ettin is slightly less stupid enough to risk both of its life at a futile fight, it would pledge its vow to serve the entity as its master, in which the entity would grant it a portion of its grand power for reasons that is often safer to let unknown.

An ettin who serves the mysterious patron as its master often mimics rituals and religious rites it comes across (often performed just before its last supper) and instead of sincere, gracious ceremony, it throws an orgy of carnage and bloodshed, often with its dinner tonight.

gollark: Is there no code on it at all or is it just not doing stuff?
gollark: Indeed.
gollark: Apparently, "all switchcraft".
