Wondrous Item (Gauntlet), artifact (requires attunment) A pair of clawed guantlets made from the scales and claws of ancient red and gold dragons. They were forged by a forgotten king to battle the magic of dragons. They are part of the Dragon Armaments with the Dragon Scales, the Dragon Mantle, the Dragon Boots, the Dragon Helm, and the Dragon Fang.
The attuned creature may spend their reaction and select one spell or magical effect they are aware of. By spend charges equal to the spell's level+1 (DM's decision on spell level of magical effect with no spell level) and slashing the air with the claws (rending the magic), that spell or magical effect is negated. When the air is slashed, the gauntlet leaves behind black claw marks that fade away if the ability worked, or shatter if it failed (the targeted spell or magical effect cannot be negated, the gauntlets did not have enough charges left (no refund), the target was not a spell or magical effect, etc.).
