Often confused for a dinosaur, dimetrodon is actually closer to you and I than any dinosaur that ever lived. This creature blurs the line between mammal and reptile, as it shares characteristics of both: dimetrodon walks on lizard-like feet and has crocodilian scales on its belly, but every other part of its body has bare skin and it possesses whiskers showing its relation to mammals. On its back are long spines projecting from its spinal chord covered in a flap of skin used for display and to control its temperature. Dimetrodon tends to live in warm swamps, where it can prey on the bountiful fish.

gollark: Which one is yours?
gollark: [REDACTED]
gollark: Yes, unfortunately my attempt at stealing the bots here failed since they are not set as public.
gollark: Maybe you can steal just the markdown parser and tack a simple markdown AST to HTML backend on.
gollark: pulldown-cmark (Rust CommonMark parser) contains 3000 lines of parsing code, although it does have to care about low level details and does some SIMD magic for performance.
