Physical Description

Cybertronians are alien beings who appear as larger-than-life giants, wholly constructed of metal and machinery. Their size is eclipsed only by their complexity in composition, as one would be hard pressed to find technology as advanced as what cybertronians are made of. No two cybertronians are alike, though they may share similar base chassises and cores. Every cybertronian is equipped well with tough metal parts and various mechanical extensions allowing them to shift into weaponry and other forms of travel. Cybertronians are notable for their ability to shift into vehicles and mounts as self-configuring modular robotic lifeforms. This feat is possible through a synergistic blend of bio-mechanical evolution and self-technological engineering. While in this form, they retain total control of themselves and therefore are rarely passively driven or ridden.

History

There are multiple theories as to how such massive constructs of advanced technology gained such sentience. Regardless of those, cybertronians originate from the planet Cybertron, which itself is actually a giant cybertronian, called Primus. They believe their planet once was needed to fight a powerful enemy, Unicron the Destroyer. Unicron was ultimately sealed within the core of a distant planet. Primus' heart, the legendary artifact Allspark, controlled life but was removed from Primus in the battle against Unicron. Civil wars for the Allspark exploded as two factions of cybertronians arose, the autobots, and the decepticons. The autobots are led by Optimus Prime, one of the original cybertronians. For a time, victory seemed inevitable for the autobots. That is, until Megatron, leader of the decepticons, found dark energon. This material is from the blood of Unicron, a corrupted version of the energon that runs trough the veins of every cybertronian. With this discovery, he tipped the scales in the decepticons favor, and ultimately destroyed Cybertron, along with many of the autobots. To this day, the autobots are largely on the run from the decepticons, but they vow to protect others from their evil.

Society

While autobots and decepticons are warring factions of the cybertronian race, they are more like political parties than subraces. The real difference lies in predacons and vehicular bots. Predacons can transform into mounts like tigers and dragons, where as vehicular bots shape into cars and aircraft. The factions are made with a mix of each. In modern day, the two factions are ruled solely by their respective leaders, Optimus and Megatron. They are otherwise loosely controlled. The autobots function a little like a guerilla group who serves as the underdog. They seek to mitigate the decepticons damage and protect other sentient beings. the decepticons are bent on aggrandizing power for themselves, and will stop at nothing to achieve their nefarious ends.

Cybertronian Names

All cybertronian names are similar based on their personality and often, their vehicle mode. This leads autobots and decepticons to have different variations of names. Sometimes an autobot will become a Prime, and they add "Prime" to their name. Other times, they will change their first name along with adding "Prime".

Male: Starscream, Soundwave, Megatron, Bumblebee, Ratchet, Optimus

Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Darkvision. Most cybertronians have eyes like headlights, allowing them to see in the dark. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Transformation. You can change your form into that of a mount or vehicle. Most cybertronians have one form they are known for. The forms you can take depend on your subrace.
Construct. Due to the fact that you are made of metal, you are counted as a construct instead of a humanoid. You do not need to eat, drink, breathe or sleep. To get a long rest, you only to rest for 4 hours, and you are fully aware of your surroundings as you rest.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and one other language of your choice.
Subrace. Choose either the vehicular bot, predacon or mini-con subrace.

Predacon

Ability Score Increase. Your Dexterity score increases by 1.
Predacon Transformation. As an action, you may polymorph into a mount, or any beast of CR 1/2 or lower, as per the polymorph spell and back into your true form as a bonus action. If you are reduced to 0 hit points in this form you revert back into your true form. You have the same hit points in either mode and they are transferred over when transforming. At 5th level, you may choose the form of another mount or beast of CR 1 or lower which you can transform into. Any weapons your holding when you transform go inside your mechanical body.

Vehicular Bot

Ability Score Increase. Your Constitution score increases by 1.
Vehicle Morph. You are proficient in one vehicle of your choice. This vehicle is integrated into your body, and you double your proficiency bonus for any ability checks you make with it. You can transform into your vehicle mode with weapons in hand, but they are put into your trunk or bed of your vehicle. At 5th level, you can add another proficiency to that of another vehicle.
Ram Power. You are able to hit enemies in your vehicle mode for 1d6 bludgeoning damage.

Mini-Con

Ability Score Increase. Your Dexterity score increases by 1.
Mini-Con. Your size is medium and you have an advantage on Stealth and Perception checks.
Power Surge. Once per round, while you are adjacent to a creature, you can give that creature advantage on all die rolls until the end of their next turn as a move action.
Alt Mode. While most bots and cons turn into something big like animals or vehicles, a mini-con is able to turn into a weapon and is able to hold weapons. The weapon type that you transform into is up to you, however, it is always considered an oversized weapon. You cannot transform with weapons in your hands, but you can with armor and some sort of satchel on. When you are in this mode and completely still, you are completely indistinguishable from a regular weapon of the same type. If you choose a melee weapon like a sword or a pike, or a thrown weapon like a spear, when someone uses you as a weapon, you can make an action as soon as they have made their attack to transform, move into an empty space 5 feet away from the target and attack again, dealing 1d4 bludgeoning damage as an unarmed attack.

gollark: ÆÆÆÆÆÆÆÆÆAAAA OH BEES THE NAVIGATIONAL DIFFICULTY
gollark: Well, you should use minoteaur.
gollark: So if the boring design is more practical in those senses, give me it æ.
gollark: I'm going to spend much more time doing ground-level travel and being stuck in traffic queues and whatever than I am thinking about the aesthetics of it by satellite.
gollark: Like arguably most UK ones?
