Onion Blood. A creature that moves within 5 feet of the crystalk or hits it with a melee attack while within 10 feet of it must successfully make a DC 12 Constitution saving throw or become blinded until the start of its next turn.

Spider Climb. The crystalk can climb difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings, without needing to make an ability check.

Vegetal Regrowth. The crystalk regains 1 hit point per minute if it has at least 1 hit point. Attacks which deal 5 or more slashing damage cut a chunk with 1 hit point off the crystalk; if given time to regain all its hit points, this chunk becomes a copy of the original crystalk.

ACTIONS

Multiattack. The crystalk uses its Bloody Tears and its Scream.

Bloody Tears. The crystalk forcibly ejects blood from its eye. Each creature within 5 feet of a point the crystalk chooses that is within 20 feet of it makes a DC 12 Constitution saving throw, taking 3 (1d6) poison damage and becoming stunned until the start of its next turn on a failed save, or blinded until the start of its next turn on a successful one. Creatures which have resistance or immunity to poison damage have advantage on this save.

Scream. Each creature within 20 ft. of the crystalk which can hear it must succeed on a DC 11 Constitution save or become deafened until the end of its next turn.

Slam. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 6 (2d4 + 1) bludgeoning damage.

Spending most of its life buried almost entirely in soil, a crystalk's luminous antennae attract night-flying insects within reach of its parasol-like ears, capable of absorbing nutrients through their adhesive outer surfaces. Only under the glow of the full moon does the monster rise to supplement this meager diet, following the breath of sleeping creatures and gingerly worming its slick, rubbery limbs into available orifices to feed on mucus and digestive contents. If discovered during feeding or otherwise threatened, the crystalk unleashes an ear-splitting screech and oozes or forcefully sprays its own sticky, black blood from around its ocular disk. Even at a distance, the acrid stench of the inky substance severely agitates the eyes, nostrils and similarly sensitive membranes of other creatures, and close contact is debilitatingly painful. As its attacker doubles over in agony or flees, the crystalk makes a nonchalant and leisurely escape.
Its sticky, sucker-like feet allow vertical and upside-down movement over any broad surface, its limbs can extend to several times their relaxed length, and the slightest wound only releases more of its irritating blood. With simple, redundant organs and an evenly distributed nervous system, a crystalk can regenerate in an echinoderm-like fashion from any portion of its body containing one or more of its many ganglia, resulting in biologically and mentally identical duplicates of the original creature.
Unless defending themselves, crystalk are plodding, passive, completely silent monsters, content to entomb themselves vertically in cold, moist soil between "hunts." Generally emotionless, they have few personal feelings or insights and a reputation for short, boring conversation. Only the subject of soil appears to pique a crystalk's interest, exhibiting both a richly detailed understanding and adamant personal biases on matters of soil quality, composition and chemistry.

gollark: Arch is rolling release, and I think any breaking of the package manager would also likely mess up everything else *anyway*.
gollark: The AUR (btw I use arch) contains a *lot* of stuff, and if it doesn't I can sometimes wrangle a program into compiling from source from their github or whatever.
gollark: It's *automated* building from source, it's not that bad.
gollark: You can just `pacman -S whatever`, assuming it's available, or if it isn't I have the AUR.
gollark: Really? I find it easier because package manager.
