Keen Smell. The commerce cat has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on smell.

Divine Awareness. The commerce cat knows if it hears a lie.

Blessings of Commerce. A commerce cat may bond with another creature and as long as they take care of and protect the commerce cat they receive passive benefits from the god it is linked to. They receive the following benefits:

  • The creature can roll on any treasure table twice and pick either result.
  • They gains or finds at least 1 gp each day.
  • The creature has advantage on checks made to barter, haggle and engage in other commerce-based activities.

A blessed creature receives the same birthmark behind their ear that the commerce cat has.

Curse of Commerce. Similarly, if a commerce cat is mistreated or killed by another creature they fall under the effect of a curse from the god it is linked to. Receiving the following debilities:

  • The creature always takes the lowest roll on any treasure table they roll on.
  • The creature misplaces or loses 1 gp each day.
  • The creature has disadvantage on checks made to barter, haggle and engage in other commerce-based activities.

This curse lasts for a month, however, if a creature kills the commerce cat the effect becomes permanent and can only be undone by a wish spell. This affects the creature responsible for their death, so a noble ordering a guard to kill the cat would lead to the noble being cursed. This curse can affect multiple targets at once.

ACTIONS

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 7 (1d4 + 4) radiant damage.

Restoring Bite (2/Day). The commerce cat bites a creature within 5 feet of it, allowing it to regain 8 (1d8 + 4) hit points and freeing it from any curse, disease, poison, blindness, or deafness.

A commerce cat.

A commerce cat at first glance is like every other cat - lazy, they lie around all day soaking up the sun and making their perch wherever they please. However, upon closer inspection, a commerce cats ears are lined with golden strands of fur that come together at the tips of their ears to form two arrows of gold. Their eyes are always a shade of bright gold and, despite being cats, they seem far more intelligent than others. Commerce cats all have a birthmark on them behind one of their ears that depicts a holy symbol of a god of commerce.
Commerce cats are said to be the manifestations of a god of commerce on the material plane and as such only a certain number of them are said to exist at once. Within certain communities, they are worshiped and fawned over as if they were the gods themselves. Merchants, black market dealers and wealthy individuals will pay top dollar to have one by their side, as their ability to attract wealth to their owner is well known and sought after. Similarly, their ability to attract misfortune to those that wrong them is especially dangerous, and it is said that one wrong move and even the greatest commercial companies will fall to ruin.
Depending on the nature of the god they come from commerce cats may expect to be played with and entertained regularly by their owner or simply to be fed and taken care of. A commerce cat may expect to be treated like a king of kings or as a friend. They generally have the freedom to choose their owners as the fear of being cursed prevents them from being harmed.
While a commerce cat can communicate with all creatures regardless of the language they speak due to their telepathy they almost never do. Instead, they prefer the soft purring, the loud meowing and the spiteful hissing of that are typical of cats.

gollark: They're probably EIO's best feature.
gollark: The best random highly advanced artifacts to get are staffs of travelling.
gollark: I personally carry nearly an entire inventory of tools plus a portable ender chest of more in most survival games.
gollark: Per block?
gollark: Or, well, less since hammers have balance stuff, but it's still quite fast.
