Skills Animal Handling +12, Perception +8, Survival +14 Boreal Camouflage. The giant has advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks made in wooded terrain. Innate Spellcasting. The giant's innate spellcasting ability is Wisdom. It can innately cast the following spells, requiring no material components: At will: animal friendship, barkskin, druidcraft, entangle, faerie fire, fog cloud, gust of wind, locate creature, purify food and drink, animal messenger, 3/day: cure wounds, misty step, sunburst 1/day: greater restoration Keen Senses. The giant has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight, hearing, or smell. Never Bathe. The giant is immune to saving throws that would cause a diseased effect. Speak with Animals. The giant can communicate with animals if it speaks Primordial. Tree Glide. The giant can burrow through nonmagical, unworked wood. Passive, friendly, and lazy, carbon giants are really not very intimidating. The only thing off-putting about them is their hygiene. However, when nature calls they stand at the ready. Bark-like Skin. The brown skin of carbon giants is rough and dry, similar in appearance and texture to tree bark. Their hair is long, completely unkempt, and filled with grease and dirt. Whether or not it is true, some say the hair of a carbon giant is the home of several small animals. They are usually covered from head to toe in dirt and have a myriad of foul smells around them, as they almost never wash. Carbon Giants call forests with large trees and many animals home. They love to be in nature and around living things, and away from the chaos of the civilized folk. To "fully embrace the serenity of nature", as they say, they rarely if ever bathe, try not to cause unnecessary conflicts, and never wear even the simplest of clothing. Tree Huggers. Carbon giants are pacifists by nature. They try to resolve conflicts nonviolently if they even get involved, which most of the time they don't. However, if they view their forests as in danger or someone has done them a serious wrong, they handle it with great skill. Carbon giants use the essence of nature to draw forth magical abilities used to defeat their foes. They entangle them in vines, push them done with strong winds, and work with the local woodland creatures to bring their rivals down. Make Love, Not War. Carbon giants are not raiders. They frown upon the violence of raiding, preferring trade over bloodshed. They always have despised war, and always say that everyone should just "mellow out." Even if they weren't pacifists, why would they need to raid? Their live off the land lifestyle doesn't facilitate a need for trinkets or treasures, which means they'd be raiding out of greed but what could they possibly want? Carbon giants have no need nor want of precious metals or gems. They value natural treasures such as exotic woods and leaves. Eden's Garden. To them, the most valued treasure of all is seeds. Common seeds may do, but rare seeds are highly praised. This is because carbon giants plant these seeds in the hidden grooves that make up the giant's garden. These gardens are one of the most beautiful places in the world, are handed down from to the giant's children, and carbon giants are proud and very protective of them; if someone messes with a carbon giants garden, the giant ignores its pacifist ways and will either kill them or bargain with them to gain something in return. These gardens deserve respect, as some of the plants in them may be plants thought to be extinct by even the elves. |
