Cannibal

The Cannibal is a warrior that has gone mad and has started to eat the flesh of his enemies and even fallen allies. They take pleasure in the hunt of other sentients and powerful creatures, driven by a desire to show that they are the most deadly, ferocious, and terrifying creature. Many are satisfied with dominating a small area around their home but some seek more, endeavoring to eat the greatest of creatures or even gods. Cannibals can also gain power from the creatures they eat.

Creating a Cannibal

While making a Cannibal, think about when your character became a Cannibal, and if they're comfortable sharing the fact that they eat the flesh of their fallen opponents. Think about if your character is a calm and collected psychopath, something like Hannibal Lecter, or if they have lost all sense of humanity.

Hunger & Satisfaction

At 1st level, you gain a satisfaction meter. When you eat 1 pound of live or fresh (less than 1 minute old) meat, your satisfaction increases by 1 and you gain 8 tempory hit points, these temp HP stack to a maximum of your max hit points. Your satisfaction has a maximum equal to your level and a minimum of 0.

When you spend a hit dice, you can also digest 1 pound of meat, decreasing your satisfaction by 1 and maximizing the hit points you gain from the hit dice. When you complete a long rest your satisfaction drops to 0 and you regain an additional hit dice for every 2 points of satisfaction lost this way.

Part of the satisfaction comes from knowing you are reducing a powerful creature to mere food, so eating weak creatures just doesn't do it for you, you gain no satisfaction from eating creatures with CR less than 1/8 of your level.

Snap meal

At 1st level, you gain a bite attack (separate from unarmed strike). It is a normal melee attack, on a hit it deals 1d4 piercing damage and you consume 1/10 of a pound of meat per point of damage. When you are not fully satisfied and you make a bite attack or an attack with a light weapon, you can make a bite attack as a bonus action. The damage dealt by the bite attack increases to 1d6 at 5th level, 1d8 at 11th level and 1d10 at 17th level.

(If they are a small/tiny creature and the amount you are eating of them doesn't fit the amount of damage dealt then instead it is that what you do eat is equivalent to however much you normally would eat)

Consumption

At 1st level, you gain strength from those you have eaten. When you are fully satisfied you gain a +1 bonus to melee attack and to all saves and you add your con modifier to weapon damage rolls.

Also, when you are fully satisfied you can choose to go ###, until the beginning of your next turn you have advantage on weapon attacks and at the beginning of your next turn you lose 1 point of satisfaction, the lose increases to 2 points at 5th level, 3 at 11th level and 4 at 17th level.

Opportunist Feasting

Beginning at 2nd level, you can always make a bite attack as a bonus action. You can use your reaction when a creature within 5 feet makes an attack roll, to make a bite attack.

Predator´s Gaze

Beginning at 2nd level, you have hunted, killed and consumed so much that in your heart you are a predator and those around you are your prey. You can use your action to stare into a creature's eyes, who is within 30 feet, and they must succeed a wis saving throw or become paralyzed with fear, they get to remake the save whenever they take damage or you do something other than move toward them and automatically succeed if you move away from them or they can't see your eyes. Once they have succeded on a saving throw, they have advantage against this feature until they complete a long rest.

Cannibal Archetype

At 3rd level pick one of the archetypes at the bottom of this page.

Ability Score Increase

When you reach 4th level, and again at 8th, 12th, 16th and 19th level, you can increase one ability score of your choice by 2, or you can increase two ability scores of your choice by 1. As normal, you can't increase an ability score above 20 using this feature.

Extra Attack

Beginning at 5th level, you can attack twice, instead of once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn.

Voiding stomach

Beginning at 6th level, you can use your bonus action to vomit and reduce your satisfaction any amount except below 0

At 0 satisfaction, you can lose your con mod of satisfaction

Costly Defense

At 9th level, When you are fully satisfied you can decrease your satisfaction by 5 to reroll a save with advantage

Fueled Strike

At 10th level, you can decrease your satisfaction by your constitution modifier to add your constitution modifier to an attack and damage roll

Swallow

At 13th level, if you are grappling a creature that is one size smaller than you (for this small and medium sizes count as the same size) you can swallow them as an action, they take half your level of d4's each turn and you throw up if you lose 1/10 of your hp in one turn from inside.

Once a day you can shrink someone and then swallow them

Demanding hunger

Starting at 14th level, you always spend hit dice and satisfaction on short rests until you have max hit points and when you complete a long rest you regain all your hit dice, but for every hit dice you do not regained naturally or from losing satisfaction, your satisfaction is decreased by 2. Your satisfaction can drop below 0 this way. For every point your satisfaction drops below negative your level, you have 1 level of exhaustion.

When you are below 0, once per turn you can bite without using an action and you can dash using your bonus action.

And when you eat and you haven't eaten in the last 10 minutes, you roll a d20, if the roll is above your level, you reroll, if it is equal or less than your negative satisfaction, you become bloodthirsty, you can also just choose to become bloodthirsty. While you are bloodthirsty you use your move to move towards the closest creature and you use your actions to make bite attacks. Your speed doubles and you gain ressistance to all non magical damage. You are bloodthirsty until your satisfaction is 0 or above or until you fall unconscious.

True consumption

At 17th level, you now directly consume the lifeforce of creatures rather than their flesh, you can now eat all types of creatures (including undead and constructs) but they must be alive (or undead or animated), you gain no satisfaction from dead meat. Your bite attack also deals force or magical piercing damage, whichever deals the most damage.

Overeating

At 18th level, Some benefit when you lose a point for being above the maximum. This has to be on a level after true consumption

gollark: Again, random noise? There are a lot of places you can read out information and a lot of different things you can compare against.
gollark: Oh yes, light speed is annoying too. Also how even the planets are mostly really boring.
gollark: The remaining volume is mostly stars, in which you will very very rapidly die.
gollark: Not climate change and whatever, it isn't *that* bad compared to the fact that the vast, vast majority of volume in the universe is basically useless empty space in which you will very rapidly die.
gollark: Aha, I was right, they ARE just reading far too much into random noise.
