Legendary Resistance (10/Day). If Caius Ballad fails a saving throw, he can choose to succeed instead.

Auto-Arise. If Caius Ballad is reduced to 0 hit points, he immediately regains all hit points.

Heart of Etro. Caius Ballad automatically succeeds on all saving throws. If he is subjected to an effect that allows him to take half damage on a successful saving throw, he instead takes no damage. His AC equals 20 plus his Dexterity modifier (27).

Magic Weapons. Caius Ballad’s weapons are magical.

Mana Regeneration. At the start of each of Caius Ballad’s turns, roll a d8. He regains an expended spell slot of that level or lower.

Master of Magic. Caius Ballad can maintain concentration on as many spells as he wishes.

Master of Time. If Caius loses a battle, he can alter time to create a scenario where he is victorious and his enemies are defeated.

Planeswalker. Caius Ballad can innately cast dimension door, plane shift and teleport at will, requiring no material components.

Reactive. Caius Ballad can take a reaction on every turn in a combat.

Spellcasting. Caius Ballad is a 20th-level spellcaster. His spellcasting ability is Charisma (spell saving throw DC 24, +16 to hit with spell attacks). Caius Ballad knows the following sorcerer spells:
cantrips: fire bolt, chill touch, minor illusion, prestidigitation, shocking grasp, true strike
1st level (4 slots): burning hands, shield, sleep, thunderwave
2nd level (3 slots): blur, scorching ray, shatter
3rd level (3 slots): counterspell, dispel magic, fireball, haste, slow
4th level (3 slots): banishment, blight, polymorph
5th level (3 slots): cone of cold, dominate person, telekinesis
6th level (3 slots): circle of death, disintegrate, eyebite
7th level (2 slots): delayed blast fireball, finger of death, reverse gravity
8th level (1 slot): dominate monster, earthquake, sunburst
9th level (1 slot): meteor swarm, time stop

ACTIONS

Multiattack. Caius Ballad makes thirteen greatsword attacks, or seven greatsword attacks and six force bolt attacks.

Greatsword. Melee Weapon Attack: +18 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 16 (2d6 + 9) slashing damage and 28 (8d6) necrotic damage, and the target’s maximum hit points are permanently reduced by an amount equal to the necrotic damage taken. A creature dies if its hit points are reduced to 0 this way.

Force Bolt. Ranged Spell Attack: +16 to hit, range 120 ft., one target. Hit: 21 (6d6) force damage, and the target is stunned until the end of its next turn.

Unarmed Strike. Melee Weapon Attack: +18 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 15 (1d12 + 9) bludgeoning damage, and the target is grappled (escape DC 26). Until the grapple ends, the target is restrained, Caius Ballad has advantage on attack rolls against the target, and Caius Ballad cannot make unarmed strike attacks against another target.

Apocalypse from the Sky (Recharge 6). Caius Ballad casts meteor swarm without using up a spell slot.

REACTIONS

Shield. Caius Ballad casts shield.
Temporal Flux. If Caius is hit by a weapon or spell attack, he can use his reaction to reduce the damage taken by half.

LEGENDARY ACTIONS

Caius Ballad can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. Caius Ballad regains spent legendary actions at the start of his turn.

Warp. Caius Ballad innately casts dimension door.
Manhandle. Caius Ballad makes an unarmed strike.
Unmake. Caius Ballad forces a creature within 120 feet of him that he can see to make a DC 24 Charisma saving throw. On a failed save, the creature is erased from time: it dies, and its body vanishes into thin air along with any equipment it was wearing or carrying. On a successful save, the creature takes 84 (8d10 + 40) necrotic damage and has all of its ability scores halved for 1 year. A creature can repeated the saving throw at the end of every month, ending the effect on itself on a success.
Ragnarok (Costs 3 Actions). Caius Ballad impales himself with his own sword, destroying the Heart of Etro. He dies, and the entire multiverse dies with him.

Caius Ballad is an immortal and invincible warrior who has absolute power over time itself. Originally empowered to watch over the integrity of history, Caius Ballad now seeks to end all of existence for petty and selfish reasons.

Divine Boon. Caius Ballad bears the Heart of Etro, the literal and metaphysical heart of a goddess of time and death. So long as the Heart beats within his breast, Caius Ballad cannot be killed by any means, and the Heart itself cannot be removed from him unless he wishes it; even the Goddess who granted him her heart is powerless to stop him. In the unlikely event that a foe should get past his divine defenses and slay him, Caius will immediately rise from the dead, fully restored; and if he is defeated without being killed, he can simply alter the course of time to create a scenario where he is victorious and his enemies are defeated.

Renegade Guardian. Caius was granted his power and immortality to watch over the history of the world and prevent time travellers from creating paradoxes that might threaten the multiverse. He served this role well for a time, but grew dispirited when he met a young girl who was destined to die young and reincarnate endlessly. Wishing to end her suffering, he vowed to unmake all that his divine patron held dear and destroy time itself, thereby destroying all of existence. Whether she’d actually want Caius Ballad to do this is a thought that never crossed his mind.

Walking Apocalypse. Beyond his peerless swordsmanship, vast magical powers, time manipulation and immortality, Caius Ballad has the power to end the world. All he needs is for someone to stab him in the Heart of Etro, which kill both himself and the goddess and thereby destroy time. If someone is unable or unwilling to do the deed, he can simply do it himself—but he would prefer to die in battle against a worthy foe rather than by his own hand, out of a twisted sense of pride.

gollark: Apple is becoming even more walled-garden-y with their custom silicon, too.
gollark: Well, at least it avoids the side channel attack issues of having multiple VMs/whatever on a more powerful server.
gollark: I wouldn't be surprised if at least a few % of Apple devices were primarily bought for iOS development.
gollark: Yes, that too.
gollark: Which I don't think is worth it in most cases given the other tradeoffs.
