Brush Machete (3.5e Equipment)
A brush machete is similar to a regular machete, though it has two main differences. The first and most notable is the blade which curves to a slight sickle-like spike at the top. This serves as a weighted top, not unlike the widened blade that a standard machete has. The second is the elongated handle, making it ideal for swinging with greater momentum, similar to a small hatchet.

Because of the curved blade, the brush machete can be used to make Trip attempt. If you are tripped during your own trip attempt, you can drop the brush machete to avoid being tripped.
Additionally, because of the length of the handle and blade in addition to the curved spike, the brush machete can be used to make a single strike toward a flanking opponent (Sides only, not behind) as a Standard Action. This is in place of your Move Action. This action can only be used in a stationary position. For the purposes of factoring Damage Reduction, when using this strike it only applies as a Piercing weapon.
The brush machete has a unique blade that allows it to sink into flesh, which can than be drug through it as a Rake attack. Upon a successful critical, the wielder can preform a Touch Attack with the brush machete. Doing so is a Full-Action Round and does not invoke an Attack of Opportunity. This also forgoes any additional strikes the wielder could make, assuming they have a high enough BAB or some Feat that allows them to do so. When the critical is scored, not only is the damage multiplied accordingly, but the wielder can drag the weapon through the flesh in a fierce slashing motion, causing an additional die of the appropriate size type worth of damage plus their Strength Modifier. For instance, someone with 18 Strength who is using a Medium brush machete will deal (1d6x2 + 4 piercing damage) + (1d6 + 4 slashing damage). If the wielder is dual wielding brush machetes and successfully scores critical hits with both, they may preform the Rake attack with both brush machetes. The benefit of this is that in place of additional strikes that could have been made, by using the Rake attack, the opponent must make a Will Save DC 10 + 1/2 damage dealt (Rounding down) or become Shaken, which will last through their next Round. If a Rake attack was made with two brush machetes, the DC combines both total damages and halves it, while the Shaken state lasts two full Rounds instead of just one.
