Brewing Potions and Poisons (5e Variant Rule)
Brewing Potions and Poisons
This is a variant rule that is meant to be a comprehensive guide to replace the current system for brewing Potions and Poisons in 5E.
Creating Potions/Poisons
Most Poisons and Potions have ingredients to make them, while others seem to be made with materials not of this world, making them impossible to replicate.
To create a potion or poison, you must make an Intelligence check with the appropriate kit using the correct material components. Material components created by a magical effect that disappear after a certain amount of time cannot be used, as a key ingredient will no longer exist.
