ACTIONS

Multiattack. The ape makes three attacks: one with its bite and two with its claws.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (1d8 + 4) piercing damage.

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 9 (2d4 + 4) slashing damage.

Rock. Ranged Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, range 25/50 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d6 + 4) bludgeoning damage.

Sometimes called slasher apes, black apes are terrifying creatures with dark fur and a malevolent bent. The creature's long claws can cleave through wood, and it marks its territory by leaving gashes in trees and stones. Typically solitary, black apes only gather in significant numbers when prey is abundant.

Accursed Origins. Tales state that these apes were once humanoid inhabitants of a powerful civilisation before they angered their deity and were eternally cursed. Though these stories are doubted by many, black apes fly into a rage when they see humanoids, speculated by scholars to be because they envy humanoids because they remind them, in some primal way, of what they once were.

gollark: F.lux, Termux, ... I think that's it?
gollark: Yes, and not that many and they're pretty trustworthy.
gollark: Allegedly.
gollark: Don't install it?
gollark: I mean, yes, if you grant random apps root, then... that is insecure, but any sane root thing handles it like any other permission and any sane user only grants it where needed.
