This insane idea matured through the odd friendship of a talented, if alcoholic, dwarven blacksmith and a paranoid gnome tinkerer. This heavy armor is a hollow cylinder made from a mithral-steel alloy, combined with additional plate boots and leggings, as well as a slit hole. The clyinder has openings for the arms on its side, as well a open bottom. From the inside, hatches can be used to close the holes. Lightweight wood covers the cylinder, giving it the appearance of a normal beer barrel. A wearer of the armor has much less vision at their disposal, but is practically impossible to hit, due to steel reinforced barrel sheets. You can retract your arms and legs into the barrel and than close the slit hole as well as the arm openings. As long as you don't move, you are indistinguishable from any other beer barrel. If, for whatever reason, a creature decides to inspect the barrel, a successful Intelligence (Investigation) check with a DC of 15 allows it to see through this disguise. You have disadvantage on attack rolls as well as Wisdom (Perception) checks based on sight while wearing this unwieldy contraption. If you do not have proficiency in heavy armor, your speed reduces to 0 while wearing this armor and you can not benefit from increases to your speed.
