Battlecaster

A group of monsters charges towards a man, he throws off his cape and his body starts to light up in magical energy, his eyes glow with light. He starts moving at tremendous speeds leaving a tray of light behind him. He moves up to the monsters blasting them backwards with a magic blast from his hands one by one jumping from one to the other. He dodges their attacks with his high speed and knocks them to the ground one by one, until he is the last one standing.

A new way to magic

Battlecasters are mages who use their magic close up and personal to the enemy. They can either be powerful spellblasters who deal heavy damage, or they can become a magic bulwark for themselves and their party. This class is for people who want to experience a new way of playing spellcasters or just for people who like magic, but also want to me in the midst of combat.

Creating a Battlecaster

When making a Battlecaster you first have to think of how they learned magic. Did they have a mentor? Were they a soldier? How did the come in contact with magic?

Quick Build

You can make a Battlecaster quickly by following these suggestions. First, Charisma should be your highest ability score, followed by either dexterity if you want a more mobile character, or constitution if you want a tankier one. Second, choose the mercenary background. Third, choose evocation spells for your spell list
