Acidic Form. A creature that touches the ooze or hits it with a melee attack while within 5 feet of it takes 18 (4d8) acid damage. After dealing damage, the weapon takes a permanent and cumulative -1 to attack and damage rolls. If its penalty drops to -5, the weapon is destroyed. Nonmagical ammunition made of metal or wood that hits the ooze is destroyed after dealing damage.
The ooze can eat through 2-inch-thick, nonmagical wood or metal in 1 round.

Amorphous. The ooze can move through a space as narrow as 1 inch wide without squeezing.

Spider Climb. The ooze can climb difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings, without needing to make an ability check.

ACTIONS

Multiattack. The ooze can use its Acid Spray. It then makes two attacks with its pseudopods.

Pseudopod. Melee Weapon Attack: +13 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 19 (3d8 + 6) bludgeoning damage and 27 (6d8) acid damage. In addition, nonmagical armour worn by the target is partly dissolved and takes a permanent and cumulative -1 penalty to the AC it offers. The armour is destroyed if the penalty reduces its AC to 10.

Acid Spray (Recharge 5-6). The ooze exhales acid in a 15-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a DC 20 Dexterity saving throw, taking 45 (10d8) acid damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. In addition, nonmagical armour worn by the target is partly dissolved and takes a permanent and cumulative -1 penalty to the AC it offers. The armour is destroyed if the penalty reduces its AC to 10.

REACTIONS

Split. When an ooze that is Medium or larger is subjected to lightning or slashing damage, it splits into two new oozes if it has at least 30 hit points. Each new ooze has hit points equal to half the original ooze's, rounded down. New oozes are one size smaller than the original ooze.

Apocalypse oozes are black oozes of monstrous size and strength that lurk in places deep underground or in the most expansive swamps. They lash out at anything that approaches, then devour it. Their favoured prey includes purple worms and bulettes.
Some creatures attempt to lure them to battlefields to unleash them as unstoppable weapons of war, but only the truly insane attempt this, as an apocalypse ooze isn't picky about what it eats, and so usually consumes both armies before retreating to its favoured habitat.

Ooze Nature. An apocalypse ooze doesn't require sleep.

gollark: It is part of my long term plan to undermine Golang.
gollark: Keep thinking that. or don't. or do.
gollark: My problem is that they all operate on "sockets" (well, file descriptors), despite doing entirely different things.
gollark: I don't think any of the actual individual API calls are.
gollark: Or, really, any safety and consistency at all.
