Alamanti

A group of weary adventurers slowly descended down the rocky slope of the mountain. The mage, and drunkard, gasped and pointed out to a plateau in in the distance as he dropped his flask. Two hundred yards away, a patrol of mindflayers waged battle with a group of human-like figures. Expressions of horror and sorrow clung to the adventurers' faces, for rarely do those who fight mindflayers live to tell the tale. The drunken mage cringed and suggested they leave before the "brain suckers" noticed them, but the noble knight among them told the mage to clear his dull eyes and look again. Right before their eyes, one of the figures, a beautiful woman, tore a mindflayer apart with her hands. Next to her, another mindflayer fell to the ground as one of the strange people bashed him mightily with a staff. Within minutes, every mindflayer laid dead on the ground. The adventures stood dumbstruck by these strange people, whispering to each other about what had just unfolded. The beautiful woman, hands stained from her fight, smiled at the adventurers as she and her brethren flew up into the air and out of sight.
—Tristan McGuffin, traveling minstrel, a late evening at the Shimmering Swan Inn.

These people are the alamanti, the final defense against in the world against mindflayers. Alamanti equal mindflayers both physically and mentally, proving themselves as hard-wrought champions of goodness.

Personality

Alamanti are warm-hearted, gentle, loving and friendly. They give aide to those down on their luck in the world, and always treat others with dignity and respect. However, they are very serious about their worldly mission, and when they find evil, they do not hesitate to either destroy it or try to convert it to the ranks of goodness. Their persuasive charm and social skills work wonders against those who haven't committed themselves to evil. Because of their great power, they tend to be confident in their skills, if not occasionally arrogant. Whatever their demeanor, their intentions are always good at heart.

Physical Description

Alamanti are as near perfection as any mortal race may hope to achieve, both in appearance and constitution. Alamanti are beautiful, standing tall, proud and erect. Their soft, peach colored skin and well toned bodies present themselves as pinnacles of physical attraction to humans. Though, they typically make humans look weak in comparison, as they stand between 6' 6" and 7' tall. Gleaming white hair gently flows about their heads, and the color of their eyes changes and flows constantly as if a magical prismatic force compelled them into hypnotic rhythm.

Relations

Alamanti love to help people, but as duty calls to them, they never stay in one place for very long. Many races view them as exemplars of goodness, while others simply confuse them for celestial beings. In any case, they are welcome in civilized lands, but in rough areas, they are often viewed with suspicion, as not everyone wants to either be manipulated and converted to someone else's way of thinking lest be punished by death.

Romantic Behavior

Alamanti society is rather strict, and cultural standards prohibit an alamanti from marrying outside their own race. Rarely will an alamanti settle into a relationship with a member of another race, but alamanti are are known to have short trysts other races. An alamant's great passion for goodness causes them to lust after strangers who impress them with great and holy deeds.

Alignment

Created by a long forgotten entity for the purpose of destroying evil, alamanti are typically Neutral Good, being true exemplars of goodness in a harsh realm, but some also have an inclination toward lawful, as their strict society demands order and obedience.

Lands

Alamanti live in their great city of Althrea. It is protected by many powerful enchantments. One may only enter Althrea if one is invited or if one is seeking help from the Alamanti.

Religion

gollark: Maybe I should timestamp them.
gollark: It might actually be worth implementing a better signing/trust system than "everything is signed with the master key".
gollark: I could probably make the PX signing program stick `return` on the end, but then I would have to revoke existing programs and I didn't add a mechanism for that.
gollark: You know, most of the sandbox exploits have just focused on finding the many logic errors/weird environment issues, not exploiting crypto. This is an interesting change, at least.
gollark: Or sticking `return` at the end?
