DIAGNOSTIC ALGORITHM. The abathrael is immune to mind-altering and mind-controlling effects. Its mind can be read, but contains nothing except what it is currently saying. It has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.

PERCEPTION LAYER DEFRAGMENTATION. The abathrael does not need to maintain Concentration on spells.

REBOOT FROM CORE. An abathrael that dies comes back to life after 1d6 days, appearing at a random point in the Astral Plane with all its hit points.

Innate Spellcasting. The abathrael's innate spellcasting ability is Wisdom (spell save DC 22, +12 to hit with spell attacks). It can innately cast the following spells, requiring no components:

At will: disintegrate, dream, locate creature, plane shift, power word stun, telekinesis, teleport
3/day each: antimagic field, divine word, mind blank, modify memory, regenerate, scrying
1/day each: feeblemind, power word kill, resurrection, time stop

ACTIONS

FEAR NOT. Each creature of the abathrael's choice within 120 feet of it and aware of it must succeed on a DC 20 Wisdom saving throw or automatically become effected by any combination of fear, confusion, and suggestion that the abathrael chooses.

Art by Jonathan Wojcik

An abathrael is prone to invasive cognotransmissive contact with other sentient beings, picking through their memories and reacting unpredictably to its findings. It has been known to repair injuries and eradicate diseases in even those who threaten it, or turn its burning ocular ray upon innocent bystanders to "expunge impurities." Its booming, cryptic riddles and multilingual gibberish offers few clues to its origins or purpose. Much of its mass produces no energy signature, passes through conventional matter at will and evades any attempt at direct analysis, but it carries with it a headless, sexless, nonliving hominid body of otherwise unremarkable composition. Destruction of this body temporarily dissipates the abathrael, but documented specimens have subsequently remanifested with replacements from an indeterminate source.

gollark: It's better than using Google.
gollark: But it won't affect anything, since that would be discrimination against bots.
gollark: If I ever need captchas for some reason, I'll use osmarkscaptcha™, which will just have a checkbox asking if you're human or not and say "no lying".
gollark: Unrelatedly, I tweaked some manifest stuff and now you should be able to add osmarks.tk to your home screen.
gollark: ReCaptcha means Google will data-mine you a ton.
