A Really Rousing Sea Shanty (5e Spell)


For every 10 minutes that the caster concentrates on this spellsong, you harness the tidal energy of the sea and remove 1 exhaustion from 1 living being you choose within the spell's radius, other than your self.

A Really Rousing Sea Shanty
2nd-level Transmutation
Casting time: 1 action
Range: 120 foot radius
Components: Verbal, Component(see below)
Duration: Concentration up to 3 hours
As the great ship's musician that you are, you have learned how to merge magic, singing, and the sea together into a spell that encourages your fellow sailors to work longer hours at sea without becoming exhausted.

The living being that you choose will also be given 1 additional Bardic Inspiration (PHB page 53), to be used within the next 10 minutes.


The material component of the spell is actually the sea, a tidal sea must be within the 120 foot radius of the spell.

A non-tidal body of water may be used as a component, but the spell will only be half as effective. The caster must then spend 20 minutes concentrating on the spell song to remove 1 exhaustion.


For every 30 minutes that the caster sings this spellsong, the caster gains 1 exhaustion.


At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher the spell can effect 1 more living being per spell level above 2nd.


Disclaimer

By harnessing the power of the sea in this spellsong, the sea itself absorbs the exhaustion from the beings chosen by the caster. At the DM's discretion, this may change the sea to be more calm, or be more rough, whichever is opposite of it's current state. Or the sea may just enjoy absorbing the energy and nothing happens..
