p61 Herschel loop 1
P61 Herschel loop 1 is a period-61 Herschel loop oscillator constructed by David Buckingham on August 6, 1996, being the first period 61 oscillator to be discovered. At the time, 61 was the minimum-period Herschel loop constructible and makes heavy use of eater 2. With the discovery of eater 5 and some related eaters, this minimum was reduced to 57, and periodic conduits enable the construction of period 56, 55 and 54 oscillators.
