p40 B-heptomino shuttle

P40 B-heptomino shuttle is a period-40 shuttle oscillator found by David Buckingham sometime before May 1991,[1] being the first period 40 oscillator to be discovered.[note 1] It consists of two blockers, two tubs, and a fumarole hassling a B-heptomino.

Notes

  1. A period-40 oscillator, octagon II on figure eight, can be constructed from two sparkers (octagon II and figure eight) both of which were definitely known by 1971. However, this type of oscillator is generally considered "boring", and thus not counted despite technically being non-trivial.
