Zoomorph Pretty Cure
A Pretty Cure fanseries written by G.A.S.A at fanfiction.net.
When the Magic Realm is attacked by the evil organization Darkwinn, the crystal which protects the multiverse is shattered and its pieces fall on earth. A magician named Kyou goes after them but his body gets trapped between the dimensions and his soul is trapped in the body of a cat plushie (Who becomes a real animal after that). At the same time a girl named Shidou Akane transfers to Shinjuku Middle School and is chosen to be a Pretty Cure, while searching for the other four Pretty Cures and the crystal fragments.
Zoomorph means in form of an animal, as the entire series is animal themed: from the heronies to the mascots and even the villains and the chimeras. The author also had a bit of influence in Tokyo Mew Mew when writing the story.
The main characters are:
- Shidou Akane (Cure Lioness): The leader of the team, have some traits of tomboyism and practice martial arts, she also likes to nickname everyone.
- Kazeno Tsubasa (Cure Eagle): The Lancer and a bit clumsy, the first friend made by Akane when she arrives, a sweet and cheerful girl.
- Umizaki Mizuki (Cure Mermaid): The Smart Gal, Mizuki rarely shows her emotions but cares deeply for her friends.
- Takamachi Usagi (Cure Bunny): The Chick (Even tough he is a guy), a secrectly fan of Magical Girls and member of the basketball team at school, undergoes a gender change every time he transforms.
- Hoshikawa Yuki (Cure Lizard): The Big Guy, one year older than the others and last to join the team, has a slight troubled past and trouble talking with others.
This fanfic contains exemples of:
- Aloof Big Brother: Subverted, Akane has two older twin brothers but she is stronger than them
- Animal Theme Naming: All villains have the name of their respective animal in their names:
- Wollien - The Wol part is short for Wolf
- Oclula - The Oc part is short for Octopus, lula means squid in portuguese
- Touro - Means bull in portuguese
- Borbobella - The Borbo part is short for Borboleta which means Butterfly in portugese
- Shabat - This doesn't need to be explained
- Serpentina - Neither this one
- By the Power of Greyskull: Pretty Cure, Zoo-Henshin!
- Development Hell: The two first chapters were published in less than a week from each other, but from there on the chapters take at lest two weeks to be completed. The author have many problems with his personal life and author's block, but luckily, when a chapter finally is published, it's likely to be longer than the previous.
- Disappeared Dad: Mizuki's dad was a policeman who died in action
- Elemental Powers:
- Blow You Away: Tsubasa, Borbobella and Shabat

- Five-Man Band
- Genki Girl: Akane
- Gender Blender Name: Usagi
- Genre Savvy: Both Akane and Usagi, but mostly Usagi
- Gilligan Cut: Episode 4
Usagi: There's no way I'm gonna lose to a girl!
[cut]
Usagi: I can't believe that I lost to a girl!
- Glass Cannon: Oclula can see the future (Altough it can change) and fire very powerful water beams from her crystal ball. The catch? One punch and she is down.
- Good Old Fisticuffs: The magical attacks only work on a weakened chimera and only serve to purify it, which means that the Pretty Cures fight with punches and kicks to weaken their enemies.
- Hair Tropes
- Curtains Match the Window: Tsubasa, Mizuki and Usagi in both civilian and Cure forms
- Hair of Gold: Tsubasa
- Redheaded Hero: Akane in both civilian and Cure form, altough her hair gets darker when she transforms
- Idol Singer: Niwa Makoto in the sixth episode.
- In the Name of the Moon: Parodied and lampshaded in episode six. Akane comes up with speeches for them to say. Everyone coments on how lame they are and how they feel like idiots.
- Irony: Usagi shrink to the size of a elemental school girl when transforming in Cure Bunny, while Yuki who is already the tallest of them in human form gets even taller (Even if by some centimenters).
- Another case, even tough Usagi is a boy, Cure Bunny has bigger breasts than any female character except Serpentina.
- Meaningful Name:
- Tsubasa means wings
- The Mizu part of Mizuki's name means water, also the Umi part of her surname means ocean
- Usagi means rabbit
- Magical Girl
- Missing Mom: Akane's mom died when she was little, the causes are unknown
- Monster of the Week: The chimeras. Like in Pretty Cure Splash Star where the villains created Uzainaas from their elements, the villains create chimeras based on their animals:
- Wollien creates chimeras using mammals
- Shabat creates chimeras using birds
- Oclula creates chimeras using fishes and sea creatures
- Borbobella creates chimeras using bugs
- Serpentina creates chimeras using reptiles
- Touro is so strong that he doesn't need chimeras and fight on his own
- No Celebrities Were Harmed: Tsubasa was based on a real classmate of the author
- Oh Crap: Makoto in the sixth episode
- Painful Transformation: The transformantion from human to chimera, made painful on purpose so that the chimera gets insane and starts attacking everything it sees
- Precision F-Strike: In the sixth episode, Makoto swears "Oh crap"
- Sound Effect Bleep: Makoto's "Oh Crap" in the sixth episode was written as "Oh c***"
- Super Speed: All of them are quicker than human average, but Usagi is the faster
- Super Strength: All of them have it, but Akane is the strongest
- Our Vampires Are Different: Shabat
- Our Werewolves Are Different: Wollien
- Shout-Out: In the fourth episode, Usagi and Akane mention a game called Knights of the Rose, its about seven cursed dolls that fight in a battle between themselves, the last one standing will be blessed with humanity and have a chance of meeting their creator
- Surprisingly Good Portuguese: Because the author is from Brazil, there's a lot of Portuguese going on in this series (i.e. Kyou's spells).
- Sweet Tooth: Borbobella
- Trademark Favorite Food: Borbobella loves ice cream, it doesn't matter the flavor if its ice cream she'll eat it.
- Winged Humanoid: Cure Eagle, Borbobella and Shabat
- What Could Have Been: In the original beta version of the series, Mizuki was Cure Dolphin instead of Cure Mermaid (Changed because Cure Mermaid sounds cooler) and Yuki was Cure Penguin instead of Cure Lizard (Changed because her powers were Ice-based but the author decided to change it), Usagi was a Genki Girl named Kibougane Haruhi which Cure form was named Cure Monkey and Borbobella was going to be a female version of Lanhua.
