Wrong Turn/Trivia

• As Herself: Kimberly Caldwell of American Idol fame in the opening of Dead End.
• California Doubling: Original film was set in West Virginia, but was shot in Ontario, Canada.
  • Left for Dead takes it further by being shot in Bulgaria.
• Dawson Casting: Dead End has 30-year-old actors playing 20-year-old characters.
• Dolled-Up Installment: When the movie Swamp Devil got bootlegged into Philippines, it was titled Wrong Turn 3.
• Enforced Method Acting: During the filming of the first installment, Desmond Harrington broke his ankle during the escape from the hillbillies' cabin. It was worked into the film with Harrington's character Chris getting shot in the leg.
  • In the same film, the actor who played Saw-Tooth actually got set partly on fire during the climactic battle, which was kept in the final cut.
• Hey, It's That Guy!: Faith, Quinn, Sassy Secretary Claudia and Detective Lupo are among the heroes of the first film.
  • In Dead End, we have Black Flag singer Henry Rollins as Dale.
  • Jason Voorhees traded his machete and hockey mask for bow and arrows for the part of Pa in Dead End.
• Shout-Out: Dead End has an homage to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre's dinner sequence.
• Similarly Named Works: Despite the title, Francis, Bill, Zoey and Louis don't appear in the third Wrong Turn film.
• Stock Scream: Three Finger gives out a Wilhelm Scream when he is thrown out of the truck in the end of Left for Dead.
• What Could Have Been: Eliza Dushku's character from the first film was supposed to do a short cameo in the first sequel.
