- Nightmare Fuel : The Morlocks in The Time Machine episode.
- Not to mention that they did a version of Faust.
- Or their version of Phantom of the Opera, or The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, or Frankenstein, or Crazy Joe in Tom Sawyer, or...
- Not to mention that they did a version of Faust.
- Ear Worm: The intro theme.
- Periphery Demographic: A lot of teenagers and adults enjoyed the show
- Squick: Many episodes, such as A Tale of Two Cities and Pride and Prejudice featured the titular canine playing a heroic lead together with a human, female love interest. This lead to many, many scenes of attractive young actresses behaving in a romantic and cuddly manner to a freakin' dog!
- Tear Jerker: Frankenstein (given that they follow the theme of the book, it's pretty hard not to be one.)
- The scene in Dances with Dogs as Joe remembers his father pushing him on the tire swing is a bit heart wrenching.
- The end of the Tale Of Two Cities episode. They keep the "it is a far, far better thing that I do, than I have ever done" line and the guy playing Sydney Carton is actually a pretty good actor. Just try not to think too hard about how he expects no one to notice that a dog has been replaced by a human man.
- Joan of Arc saying goodbye to her friend before her execution.
- Too Good to Last
