• Game show example: I wondered what the point of current episodes of Wheel of Fortune adding $1,000 dollars to the final spin that determines what you get for consonants in the last puzzle in each episode. However, after re-reading this essay on the slippery slope property in games, I came to realize that this was done to prevent (or at least alleviate) any slippery slope effects should one player get a significant lead. -Duke
