Victor Victoria/YMMV

  • Straw Man Has a Point: King's portrayed as being insecure and and waffling because he worries about being seen as gay. However, it's difficult for anyone to have to live with false perceptions about them... especially in the thirties, even if it was Paris. Of course, since the movie is fairly thoughtful, it's entirely possible this was part of the point, especially if it was trying to show how the opposite wasn't fair either.
  • What Do You Mean It's Not for Kids?: The film is rated PG, and it does star Julie Andrews, and it's a musical, but it's for adults.
    • Seriously, on almost every level except extreme violence, it's for adults. Among other things it deals with questions about sexuality and orientation and their place in society that most adults aren't quite ready for.
