Uplay/YMMV
- Audience Reaction: To some gamers, Uplay has mixed reactions thanks to what Ubisoft did to fix the client.
- Fan Dumb: To some rabid Steam fans, they hate Uplay, since in their minds, Ubisoft copy Steam to make their own digital distribution client.
- They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: A mild example and not in the actual Splinter Cell franchise, some gamers see the naming of the new AI bot Sam and not using Michael Ironside to voice it as such a miss opportunity.
- Maybe averted since the bot is still in it's beta stage.
- Never Live It Down: After when Uplay came out - It was glitching and being a security risk, gamers won't let Ubisoft live it down to this day.
- Add the bonus of the extra DRM that is added, outside of Uplay or (both Uplay and the third party digital store). Gives gamers good reasons to not give Ubisoft a dime.
- Ubisoft, the company itself, is still seen as The Dreaded, because of Microtransactions and other legit reasons.
- In the PC gaming realm, CEO's Yves Guillemot's statements on piracy and PC gamers, which gives those good reason to switch to console, boycott, or go pirate.
- Some of the PC gamers regard Uplay as still malware or worst, spying malware.
- They Copied It, So It Sucks: See the "Fan Dumb" examples, unlike those that have justified reasons to hate on both Uplay and Ubisoft.
- Win Back the Crowd: Ubisoft was able to get some gamers back when they add good customer support, using Google Authentication, and other fixes and improvements to Uplay.
- Back to Uplay
