Tiny Toon Adventures/Nightmare Fuel

  • One episode of had Elmyra, an animal lover whose affection was always disastrous for the target animal, mourning her late pets...whereupon they rose from the dead Zombie Apocalypse-style, as hideous zombies and came after her. Their being zombified didn't prevent her from lavishing her destructive affections on them, however. One truly scarring moment shows her grabbing a zombie dog and washing it in a sink, only to have nothing in her hands afterwards; this implies the dog fell apart in the sink. This editor was terrified by the segment as a child, and still wonders who the hell thought it would be appropriate for children.
  • There was a short in Tiny Toon Adventures that was a variation on the usual Michigan J. Frog shorts… in which the frog was dead, and awaiting dissection in a biology class, but came back to life when the teacher's back was turned. This troper found it immeasurably creepy – especially the ending, where Hamton tried to bury it in a pet cemetery, but all the other animals came back to life…and sang. “Jeepers, creepers, hey wake up you sleepers! Jeepers, creepers, come and get this guy!“ Lyrics branded on this troper's soul.
  • For this troper it was the episode where Furball befriended a discarded hair ribbon. The ribbon was blown about by the wind and the usually luckless cat played with it happily. It was very nice until the wind stopped blowing and it ‘died’ leading Furball to bury it sadly. It made this troper cry, not just at the cartoon but for about a week after every time a paper bag or similar was blowing in the wind. Not exactly nightmare inducing but certainly damaging on a ‘Spring and Fall to a Young Child’ level.
