• Crowning Moment of Awesome : One of the most notable points about films such as Threads is that they're a good example of Some Anvils Need to Be Dropped. The effect they had on public opinion was striking, extending as far as to influence the government. Before, both sides of the Cold War believed that nuclear war, should it occur, was containable and survivable. After the airing of these movies, however, world leaders began seeking rapprochement and renewed their commitment to nuclear disarmament.
