• Hype Aversion: Bridget instantly loses respect for anyone who likes anything popular... not that anyone wants her respect in the first place.
• It's Popular, Now It Sucks: Missy, big time.
• Memetic Outfit: Joe's shockingly bright orange boxer shorts.
• Moe: Christine and Nancy. Margot is a subversion in that she looks Moe, but doesn't act like it.
• Real Women Never Wear Dresses: Missy acts as though the very existence of pink, lace and women being anything less than 100% Badass Action Girls is out to make the women's movement fall down and go boom. Trisha also has a hate-on for characters like Shirley, Orihime, Aeris, Ninian, Priscilla, Natasha, etc.
• Rooting for the Empire: Kristan and Morgan's obsessive worship of villains certainly cuts it, but Kristan once took it a step further, to the disgust of several.
• Running the Asylum
• The Scrappy: Hands up who likes Patrick? Or Rod or Lucy, or Gordon or Missy? Yeah, we thought as much.
• "Stop Having Fun!" Guys: Stuart. Bridget is a variation on this substituting fandom and character popularity for game techniques, and so is Lily to a lesser extent.
• Toy Ship: Rod and Lucy. Well, they're in their early teens, but they certainly act the part of small children.
• True Art Is Offensive and True Art Sticks It to The Man: Missy follows these religiously.
• Wangst: Patrick and Emily, in huge amounts.
• The Woobie: Syrius, Molly, Nancy and Christine. Patrick is a deconstruction of this.
