The Starfighters/Trivia

• Lockheed F-104 "Starfighter": The real star of this movie, was an American single-engined, high-performance, supersonic interceptor aircraft that served with the United States Air Force (USAF) from 1958 until 1967. The poor safety record of the Starfighter brought the aircraft into the public eye, especially in Luftwaffe service in West Germany.
• The ""Poopie Suit.": The standard flight uniform for Air Force pilots. It's a thermal suit designed to prevent hypothermia. This garment, known as a "poopie suit," because after wearing one for a while, the suit tends to reek. The suit is made to pee in but not to poop in. Pooping in the suit is the last thing the pilot should do.
