• And the Fandom Rejoiced: While opinions aren't unanimous, Sara Bareilles is generally viewed as marked improvement over Nicole Scherzinger, who left to become a judge for The X-Factor.

  • According to Sara Bareilles, the best performance of Season 3 so far was the Dartmouth Aires' Queen medley. One sees her point.
  • Urban Method, for the Christmas Episode, give us their rendition of "You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch".
• Covered Up: Has been known to happen, especially when a good group performs a "Current Pop Hit" or "Guilty Pleasure" . For instance, after hearing North Shore's doo-wop take on Bruno Mars' "Lazy Song," it's tough to recall the original.
  • Pretty much anything Pentatonix has done... seriously.
• Elimination Houdini: Vocal Point in third season, whose survival essentially amounted to pity because the baritone's father died just before filming.
• Funny Moments:
  • For Guilty Pleasure week, the Yellow Jackets, a group of college guys performed Wannabe by Spice Girls. The results were amazing.
  • And then they hammed it up for the swan song, with Chumbawumba's "Tubthumping".

• • Ben Folds' Piss-Take Rap in honor of Urban Method has to be seen to be believed. So here you are.
  • Ben Folds and Sara Bareilles did a duet of "Baby, It's Cold Outside". They have... differing opinions on it.
• Seasonal Rot: There are accusations, inevitably that "groups in Season X are much weaker than groups in Season X-1."
• Shocking Elimination: While this is inevitable for fans of nearly any group, the fairly early elimination of North Shore from Season 3 caught even the reviewer for Rolling Stone magazine off-guard.
