The Rocketeer (film)/YMMV
- Adaptation Displacement: The movie is more well-known than the comic book.
- Crowning Music of Awesome. The entire score.
- In particular is the main theme, people have described it as the perfect audio representation of the feeling of flight.
- This pilot in particular agrees after watching the film again recently. Really does bring me back to the first time I ever flew.
- In particular is the main theme, people have described it as the perfect audio representation of the feeling of flight.
- Draco in Leather Pants: Neville Sinclair. You'd be surprised just how many people thought Jenny Blake should've ended up with him.
- Ear Worm: You may never have seen the film, but you've heard the theme music a billion times in trailers.
- Historical Hero Upgrade: Any kid who didn't know their history would assume that Howard Hughes was a cool, confident and intelligent billionaire who popped in at just the right moment to help our heroes out ...and not the giant bucket of crazy that he actually was. Although, at the time of the film's setting, 1938, Hughes hadn't really started to go noticeably crazy, and was still at the forefront of aviation technology development.
- Magnificent Bastard: Neville Sinclair.
- Retroactive Recognition: Terry O'Quinn, aka John Locke, as Howard Hughes.
- Seinfeld Is Unfunny: Watch this film, and then watch Iron Man, and you'll see how similar the flying scenes are between both films.
- Too Good to Last: The movie never got a sequel due to its disappointing box office performance. Being released in the same summer as megahits Terminator 2 and Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves can do that to a movie.
