• Crowning Moment of Funny: Lacienega's grandfather hits on a skinny and attractive Suga Mama only for her to return to her former self after eating a piece of cake. He starts crying (the only time in the whole series he ever does) which Suga Mama confuses as Tears of Joy.
• Crowning Moment of Heartwarming: A rich man with Alzheimer's likes Suga Mama just the way she is.
• Crowning Music of Awesome: the show's soundtrack.
• Family-Unfriendly Aesop: One episode featured Penny's mother advising her to try and "find some common ground" to resolve a conflict with The Gross Sisters, who had a grudge for her reporting their lunch money extortion to school officials. Said common ground ended up being...offering financial managment advice for their stolen money supply.
  • It's episode 7, and it really has to be seen to be believed.
  • The American Idol spoof comes to mind, too.
• Funny Aneurysm Moment: in a 2003 episode, Penny is watching a football game and says that Michael Vick is the man. Fast Forward to 2010.
  • The episode with Kobe Bryant also became a tad uncomfortable to watch after his highly publicized court case.
• Viewer Gender Confusion: Some viewers mistook BeBe for a girl up until the episode where he and CeCe were turned into teens.
• Wheelchair Woobie: subverted. Penny dates a boy in a wheelchair because he made her feel bad for him, only for her to realize he's a Jerkass who exploits his handicap to get what he wants.
  • Not to mention, the Double Standard - Penny and her friends are suspended because they were (wrongly) suspected of having been behind the vandalism. When the true vandal is caught and is revealed to be in a wheelchair, all he has to do is apologized. Naturally, this is heavily lampshaded and called out on.
