The Mysterious Benedict Society/Fanfic Recs
Children can look for special opportunities; why shouldn't fanfics?
These are recommendations made by Tropers for The Mysterious Benedict Society fanfics, all of which have to be signed to stay on the page. Feel free to add a fanfic of your own to the list, but remember to use the template found here.
You can also add to the current recommendations if you want. Refrain from posting Conversation in the Main Page though; that goes in the discussion page.

Authors and Websites
Anything by Grammar Defender
- Recommended by KA
- Grammar Defender has written some of the most original works I've seen on this site and doesn't fail to impress me. Her fic "Smile", an OC story about an anonymous subordinate of Mr. Curtain, is an eerily wonderful rendition of what it must have been like to work for him.
Anything by ButterBeerBoy
- Recommended by KA
- Butter Beer Boy is one of the oldest authors in the archive and probably one of the most dedicated as well. Unfortunately he hasn't exactly been active in a while, but what he has written is excellent.
General Fics
Stories focused on the family and the friendly relationships of the cast. Plot-focused stories or light day-in-the-life stories. Pretty much anything that isn't focused on romance.
An Exchanging Of Letters by Mezzanote
- Recommended by KA
- Status: Complete
- Synopsis: A couple of chapters of Sticky-and-Constance banter through letters—between poetry, name-calling, and discussions of typewriters, it's hilarious and true-to-character.
Intersecting Pathways by Dove's Wing
- Recommended by KA
- Status: Complete
- Synopsis: "Friendship is simple...yet complicated." "You know that doesn't make sense at all, right?" she asked. "Yep," he replied, "which is exactly why friendship itself does not make sense."—Rare bit of insight to Martina Crowe's and Mr. Curtain's characters. Needs More Love.
Bones and Babies by Grammar Defender
- Recommended by Pichu
- Status: Complete
- Synopsis: Very depressing. Warnings - Depressing writing, creepy quotes, insanity, and character death. Not a light and fluffy little romance, folks. This one is truly creepy.
Invincible by Kahlan Aisling
- Recommended by Pichu
- Status: Complete
- Synopsis: One of her last thoughts is the realization that she is, actually, mortal.
- Comments: It's a rather graphic death-fic, as you probably guessed.
- ↑ which can mean anything from a few days to a few months
