• They Changed It, Now It Sucks: The television adaptation starring David Suchet as Poirot has been criticised as a disappointment in this regard. Although in their defence, the novel does hinge on a literary device difficult to replicate on the screen.
• Moral Event Horizon: Dr Sheppard started out a good-ish character who tragically slid down the slippery slope to murder, but probably crossed the line by driving Mrs Ferrars to suicide.
