The Last Story/YMMV

  • And the Fandom Rejoiced: The game will hit America, with Nintendo working with XSEED Games to bring it over this Summer.
    • Even better, the European dub (by the same folks who dubbed Xenoblade Chronicles) will be included.
    • Europeans rejoiced before when they were announced they'd get the game and America wouldn't, the opposite of what always happens. Of course, it didn't exactly turn out that way.
  • Canon Sue / Purity Sue: Calista, for quite a lot of people.
  • Crowning Moment of Awesome - When Zael is finally about to be knighted, he gets up and refuses to be knighted after seeing how rotten the system is, storms off and goes in search of Calista
    • Calista, who gets slapped around by her uncle Count Arganan, finally gets fed up with it and slaps him back.
  • Crowning Music of Awesome - The track is composed by Nobuo Uematsu after all.
    • The music that plays when Calista and Zael escape Zael's knighting ceremony/Calista's wedding to Zael is way epic.
  • Crowning Moment of Heartwarming - When the party escapes the Last World, Syrenne tells the others to go on ahead so that she can bring Lowell (who took a sword through the chest for her) back with her. Dagran's spirit uses the last of its power to bring Lowell back to life and Syrenne bursts into tears when he gets back up, wondering what the hell just happened.
    • Dagran's last words to the party before he passes away.
  • Crowning Moment of Funny - When one of the knight captains Baron Huge, (with his goons) is getting his ass kicked by a giant ogre, he starts shrieking for help from the party. Syrenne just looks at him funny and ignores him, until he (while in the middle of a fight no less) prostrates himself and starts BEGGING for her to help him. After you kill the ogre, it then falls on him, pinning him to the ground. Syrenne takes advantage of this and lectures the guy before leaving him there under the big stinky ogre.
    • During the Epilogue in the final Arena Season, the 3rd round reunites Zael with the Gurg Captain. Both Syrenne and Lowell weren't present during this chapter so they ask Zael who the hell is this guy, and Zael kind of stares blankly and says that he has no idea. The Captain is a million kinds of pissed as he calls out his new pet, Ghoul to take out the party. Ghoul instead squashes the Captain flat, which makes Zael recall him. Vaguely.

Gurg Captain: Now then, let me introduce you to my new pet! (He then gets flattened)
Zael: Ah! The guy from the ship!
Lowell: So you do know him?
Zael: Kind of.

  • Game Breaker: Summon Circles. Activate, get into relatively straightforward fight, recieve a redonkulus amount of XP and goodies, repeat. Level Grinding has NEVER been this easy!
  • Goddamned Bats - Literally, there are damned bats in the haunted mansion area, which if you don't react quick enough, will drain your life to zero in 10 seconds or less. You can't even kill them, which makes it worse.
  • Les Yay: Syrenne starts to molest Lisa/ Calista in the bath. It is something wonderful to imagine. She also mentions later how she wants a piece of Mirania 's silky smooth skin later.
  • Tear Jerker: A few of note:
    • When Lowell jumps in the way to save Syrenne from being stabbed by a sword of light.
    • When General Asthar dies.
    • When Dagran dies, and the party goes to the grave they made for him at the end of the game.
  • That One Boss: The three Cave Cougars that can be found in an optional sidequest. They hit hard and fast, closing any gaps between you with lethal speed. They are immune to Counter and fail to flinch when hit with Slash or Vertical Slash. Their defence and HP are so high that even when wielding a Star-element weapon (their weakness) it can take ten minutes to kill one. And best of all, you have to fight them solo with a mid-level Zael, as the battle becomes Lost Forever after you pass the Point of No Return (Zael's knighting ceremony). Sadly, defeating them is the only way to acquire the Guardian Blade and the items needed to upgrade Calista's "costume" armours from "useless" to "pretty damn shiny".
  • Woolseyism: As if it needs to be said a few more times.
