• Deleted Scene: The film was originally intended to have several Flash Back scenes with Alex. These were omitted from the final cut, and all we ever see of Alex are closeups of his body being prepped for the funeral during the opening credits. Alex was (would have been) played by Kevin Costner (if we had seen him).
  • Alex IS actually visible during the opening sequence. All those shots of a man getting ready? The hairline, legs, and all that? That's Kevin Costner.
• What Could Have Been / Romance on the Set: The role of Alex's girlfriend Chloe came down to two actresses who auditioned on-set: Meg Tilly and Phoebe Cates. Meg Tilly got the part, while Phoebe Cates got to meet and then later marry would-have-been co-star Kevin Kline.
