- Special Effects Failure: The laser weapons used on the show are just...blinky lights. There's no beam effect of any kind. This is actually more realistic than beams would be (and actual laser weapons in development use near-infrared wavelengths, so there isn't even a visible flash when they fire), but it's not nearly as polished or professional-looking.
- Visual Effects of Awesome: Thankfully, as with Gerry Anderson's other shows, the resulting explosions are real and quite impressive!
