- The town of Takehara is very proud of being depicted in the Tamayura OVA. Many shops advertise with posters of the show, and one of the ferries even sports huge portraits of the four main characters. This is rather peculiar, considering how the general public in Japan usually doesn't hold anime and manga in high regard.
