Tales of Monkey Island/Nightmare Fuel
There are some things in Tales of Monkey Island that would not be complete without the examples of Nightmare Fuel.
- Humorously lampshaded when you melt down the Pyrite Parrot, whose voice slows down, and Guybrush comments that that's a little disturbing. Less humorous is the Marquis De Singe, when Morgan LeFlay breaks his finger, it heals.
- The giant manatees.
- The Family Unfriendly Deaths of De Singe and Guybrush at the end of Chapter 4. Even worse: That scene when the latter gets impaled by LeChuck's Cutlass of Kaflu was enough to give 2009's 10-year-old kids nightmares even before Chapter 5 was released.
- Chapter 5: Demon Bride Elaine spraying Ghost Pirate Guybrush with root beer and zapping him back to the Crossroads. It even shows his ghostly form screaming and melting away into a skeleton, which then crumbles away into nothingness.
