Skepta provides examples of the following tropes:
- Approval of God: In a Genius exclusive comment, Ariel Schulman, co-director of Catfish, wrote that he was honored by the use of the word ("Block that account, it's a catfish") in the song "Skepta Interlude".
- Hi, Mom!: Used in "Lyrics":
"Yeah, hear me on the radio, wah gwan?
See me on the TV, hi mum"
- Reality Subtext: In "Skepta Interlude", from More Life by Drake:
"Just came back from the embassy
Check my crime sheet, check my legacy
And now I'm back on tour, so what you tellin' me?"
- As Genius says, Skepta couldn't attend the 2016 Coachella Music Festival as a performer because the US embassy denied him a working visa.
