• Lots of Power Rangers alumni have also been in Shortland Street over the years.
  • Pua Magasiva (Vinnie Kruse) and Sally Martin (Nicole Miller) are both Wind Rangers.
  • Rena Naufahu (Sam Aleni) went on to play Emperor Grumm and Mentor Ji.
  • Li Ming Hu (Li Mei Chen) went on to become Ranger Operator Series Silver, Gemma.
  • Gerald Urquhart (Luke Durville) would go to menace the Power Rangers Operation Overdrive team as Flurious.
  • Anna Hutchison (Delphi Greenlaw) later became the Yellow Jungle Fury Ranger.
  • Michelle Langstone (Bethany Hall) would be familiar to ranger fans as Kat Manx and Master Guin.
  • Ari Boyland (Brodie Kemp) was Flynn in Power Rangers RPM and also appeared in The Tribe.

  • Olivia Tennet (Tuesday Warner) went on to play Doctor K, the mentor in Power Rangers RPM.
• Life Imitates Art: There have been a lot of coincidences between Shortland Street storylines and real life, that it has become known as the "Shortland Street Curse".
  • In 2003, Shortland Street Hospital had its back-up generator fail during a power outage - less than two weeks later, the same thing happened at Auckland's Starship Children's Hospital.
