Sega Superstars/Trivia

All-Stars Racing general factoids

All-Stars Racing achievement/trophy/challenge names

Nearly all of the achievements' names refer to something Sega-related, going down to the most obscure references.

  • What Could Have Been:
    • ~ToeJam & Earl~ could have been in the game if Sega got proper licensing with the series' developers in time. They couldn't.
    • Mario was considered for the Wii version, but Sega felt they whored the plumber too much already.
      • On a similar note, Sony were approached about Ratchet and Clank making an appearance in the same vein as Banjo & Kazooie, but Sony refused to loan their characters out as they had their own kart racer coming out a few months afterwards. Reportedly, Sony did change their minds on the matter, but it was too late in production to add them to the game.
    • Also on the list in the above link: Vyse.
    • Also considered, Nei.
    • Gilius Thunderhead was playable in the prototype version of the game, but was axed from the final version. He and Vyse are set to appear in the sequel however.
    • Segata Sanshiro was seriously considered for this game.
    • Depending on sales, Downloadable Content could have made these possibilities a reality, but the developer has since revealed that Sega only contracted them to create Metal Sonic, so nothing further will come out.
  1. Somewhat odd to note that Donkey Kong Country and Banjo would be reconnected through the hedgehog and that Miku Hatsune now has some stretched out connection to those two animals and Snake!), but yeah.
  2. Even though it's a Multi Platform game for which Sega themeselves merely ported to the Master System (the NES port was obviously made by someone else); technically, it remains a Data East game.
