• California Doubling: Set around Texas, the film was actually shot in California.
• Similarly Named Works: Hilariously, the alternate title The Outing is also shared by a slasher film.
• What Could Have Been: Reports have it that there was originally going to be a sequel, entitled Second Scream. It's stated that it was going to have a bigger budget and a wider release, as well as get distributed by Paramount Pictures. However, for reasons that are unknown to this day, the idea was dropped and Second Scream was never released.
