  • Many scenes where Chise cries, but her sex scene with Shuuji tops it all.
  • The reveal of what happened to the kittens comes off a little too Yank the Dog's Chain.
  • The character designs make it that instead of two high school students falling it love, it seems like a middle school student and her teacher.
• Snark Bait -- The character designs having Chise look preteen and Shuuji look in his 40s make some people unable to take this show seriously, especially in the romantic moments where it makes Shuuji look more like a perverted teacher who's responding to a student's crush.
• Squick -- The character designs are just one aspect of this.
• So Bad It's Good: Due to the character designs and Anvilicious nature. Or it isn't as sad as people make it out to be.
